Construction worker injured in chopping incident on Sea Shore Drive

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize City police were called to Sea Shore Drive following a violent altercation at a construction site that left one man injured. Marlon Ocampos, a 26-year-old construction worker, was found with a 5-inch cut on his left arm, reportedly inflicted by a coworker wielding a machete during a dispute. The argument, which escalated quickly, ended with Ocampos bleeding from the wound and in need of medical attention.

According to the police report, Ocampos, a resident of Sea Shore Drive, explained that the incident occurred while he and other workers were socializing at the job site. A disagreement between him and another individual turned violent, resulting in the machete attack. Despite the circumstances, Ocampos informed the police that he does not intend to file an official complaint against the assailant and refused to provide further details about the incident.

Following standard protocol, police issued Ocampos a medico-legal form and arranged for his transport to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for treatment. Without cooperation from the injured party, however, police efforts to investigate the matter are effectively limited.
