By Belize Live News Staff: In a push to enhance its financial operations, Las Terrazas Belize has announced the opening of a new position for an Accounts Supervisor at its Ambergris Caye office. Located 3 ½ miles north of San Pedro, this full-time role is integral to supporting the resort’s growth and ensuring its financial compliance with Belizean laws and regulations.
The Accounts Supervisor will report to the Financial Controller and oversee core accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and monthly financial reporting. Responsibilities also include inventory management, supervision of month-end closing processes, and providing daily support to the accounting team. The role demands a high level of detail orientation, as well as skills in analysis and leadership.
Ideal candidates should have at least an Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and a minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory position. Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and familiarity with Belize tax laws are essential, while experience with accounting software like Peachtree is preferred. Prior experience in Belize’s tourism industry will be a distinct advantage.
