Elvira Mulholland charged with husband’s attempted murder

By Belize Live News Staff: A businesswoman originally from Santa Elena Town and now a resident of the Stann Creek District has been arrested and charged with the attempted murder of her husband. The incident occurred on Friday, October 25, 2024.

Elvira Grant Mulholland, 44, was formally arrested and charged by the police following a report by Jeffery Mulholland. Authorities have charged Mulholland with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, grievous harm, and robbery.

According to reports, the victim, her husband, was shot with his own licensed firearm following a confrontation at their residence located at Mile 12. He was later transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Sources indicate that Elvira Mulholland, also known locally as Gina Mulholland, fled the scene on a motorcycle with a male suspect after the shooting. Police were able to track her down and detained her in Belize City soon after.

No further details about the motive or circumstances have been provided, and investigations are ongoing.
