By Belize Live News Staff: A female police officer is under investigation for her alleged involvement in a series of armed robberies in Belmopan. Commissioner of Police Chester Williams confirmed that the officer, along with her common-law husband, is believed to be part of a larger group orchestrating the crimes.
The investigation led police to discover a number of police uniforms at the officer’s home, including uniforms matching those used in the recent spate of robberies. The suspects allegedly wore these uniforms during the crimes to mislead victims. Additionally, police found a rented vehicle and a motorcycle believed to have been used in the robberies.
Commissioner Williams stated that charges are expected to be filed against several individuals in the coming days as more evidence is gathered.
