By Belize Live News Staff: Residents of the North Creek area in Belize City are mourning the loss of a young boy who drowned in the canal on Tuesday evening. The child has been identified as Shakeel Wade, the son of murder victim Shakeem Humes, who was killed in 2020 in the Western Paradise area.

According to reports, Wade fell into the canal and quickly disappeared beneath the water. Despite immediate search efforts, he was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
