By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans and visitors alike can expect a mixed bag of weather today, as sunny skies give way to cloudy spells and scattered showers. The National Meteorological Service of Belize says relatively humid air is hanging over the region, bringing the chance of isolated thunderstorms along the coast this morning before they drift inland this afternoon. As the day progresses, expect increasing cloud cover with showers and thunderstorms developing, especially in southern and coastal areas.
If you’re heading to the beach, expect comfortable temperatures with highs around 86°F (30°C) and lows of 78°F (26°C). Inland, it will be a bit hotter, with temperatures reaching 92°F (33°C) before dipping to 72°F (22°C) tonight. Those in the hills will enjoy the most moderate temperatures, with highs of 77°F (25°C) and lows of 65°F (18°C).
Boaters will find calm conditions on the water, with light winds and waves topping out at 3 feet.
Meanwhile, the National Meteorological Service is keeping a close eye on two systems in the tropics. An area of low pressure in the central Atlantic and another in the southwestern Caribbean both have a low chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next 48 hours.
Looking ahead, residents and visitors should be prepared for more showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Thursday night, with periods of rain possible across most areas.
