Belize delegation attends historic Presidential Inauguration in Mexico

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize’s Prime Minister John Briceño is currently in Mexico City, leading a delegation to attend the official installation of Mexico’s first-ever female President, Her Excellency Dra. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. This marks a significant moment in Mexico’s political history.

Prime Minister Briceño was received at the presidential hangar by Mexico’s newly appointed Secretary of Infrastructure, Communication, and Transportation, Jesús Antonio Medina. The two leaders took the opportunity to strengthen diplomatic ties between the neighboring countries.

In a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister, it was announced that Prime Minister Briceño departed Belize earlier today to participate in the inauguration ceremony, which highlights a new chapter in Mexico’s leadership.

The Prime Minister is expected to return to Belize on October 3, 2024. In his absence, Cordel Hyde, Minister of Natural Resources, Petroleum, and Mining, will act as the Prime Minister.
