Shyne Barrow reflects on national heroes during Independence Day speech

By Belize Live News Staff: At Belize’s 43rd Independence Day celebrations, Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Shyne Barrow, honored the legacy of National Hero George Price, marking the occasion by participating in the annual wreath-laying ceremony.

Barrow prayed for the same resilience and determination that Price embodied, calling on all Belizeans to carry forward his vision of a united and prosperous nation.

He emphasized that Belize’s independence is not just a historical moment, but a continuous effort to build a nation of inclusion, equality, and social justice.

Barrow’s message to the people was clear: “The Belizean dream will only come to reality if we, the people, unite for the greater good.”
