By Belize Live News Staff: An elderly man was found dead in his home in Santa Elena, Cayo District, authorities said on Friday.
Police have detained a suspect believed to have known the victim, officials said. The man’s identity has been withheld pending notification of his family.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the attack was targeted,” a police spokesperson said. “The suspect is in custody and is being questioned.”
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
