By Belize Live News Staff: A road traffic accident in the Orange Walk District has claimed the life of 18-year-old Alvin Guardado, a laborer from Blue Creek. Guardado was reportedly driving home after visiting his girlfriend when he collided with a cow, leading to severe injuries.
The accident occurred on Monday night in an area between San Felipe and August Pine Ridge, known as “El Rancho.” According to reports, Guardado suffered significant trauma, including a large open wound to his forehead.
Emergency services rushed Guardado to the Northern Regional Hospital by ambulance. Despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life, the young man was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Guardado’s father shared that his son had spent the evening visiting his girlfriend and was on his way home at the time of the accident.
As investigations continue, the accident brings attention to the ongoing risks on Belize’s rural roads, particularly in areas where livestock often roam.
