By Belize Live News Staff: The Belize Defence Force (BDF) celebrated a historic milestone today with the graduation of 2Lt Julia Puerto, its first-ever female pilot.
2Lt Puerto completed her rigorous training at the Caribbean Military Academy’s School of Aviation, which included both fixed-wing and rotary-wing flight instruction. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and the support she received throughout her journey.
This achievement marks a step forward for gender equality within the BDF and serves as an inspiration to aspiring female aviators across Belize. The BDF’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is further strengthened by 2Lt Puerto’s success.
