Belize's ex-health minister questions motive behind university hospital relocation

By Belize Live News Staff: Former Belizean Health Minister Jose Coye has expressed concerns over the relocation of the planned University Hospital from the University of Belize (UB) campus, suggesting a “sinister motive” behind the move.

In a recent podcast interview, Coye, who served as Minister of Health during the Said Musa Administration, criticized the lack of transparency surrounding the decision. He stated that the original plan to build the hospital on the UB campus was a “very good idea,” and questioned the justification for the change.

Coye’s remarks reflect growing public skepticism about the project, with many questioning the government’s motives. The former minister urged the public to participate in the democratic process and demand answers, warning that a lack of transparency could lead to further erosion of public trust.
