By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued a weather advisory for today, August 24, 2024. A tropical wave is currently affecting the country, bringing cloudy spells with outbreaks of showers, thunderstorms, and periods of rain across the nation. The weather activity is expected to decrease later today, mainly affecting southern areas tonight.
Marine conditions are reported as light and variable winds with a slight sea state and waves of 1-3 feet. Coastal temperatures range from 82°F to 89°F (28°C to 32°C), while inland areas can expect highs of 94°F (34°C) and lows of 74°F (23°C). Hilly regions will experience temperatures between 68°F and 81°F (20°C to 27°C).
The Tropical Weather Outlook indicates no tropical cyclone formation is expected within the next 48 hours in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, and Gulf of Mexico.
The outlook for Sunday and Sunday night predicts generally fair weather with only isolated showers or isolated thunderstorms.
