Joseph Budna granted bail in abetment to murder case

By Belize Live News: Social media personality Joseph Budna has been released on $15,000 bail after being arraigned on a charge of abetment to murder earlier this week. The High Court granted bail with conditions that Budna refrain from discussing the case publicly or on social media, avoid prosecution witnesses, and report regularly to his local police station.

Budna is accused of playing a role in the death of Armando Coy Cacao, a 50-year-old Guatemalan national, in Belmopan in July 2021. He has vehemently denied the charges and expressed concerns for his safety while in custody.

Attorney Arthur Saldivar, representing Budna, confirmed the bail conditions and emphasized his client’s commitment to adhering to them throughout the legal proceedings.

Budna is scheduled to return to court in November for further proceedings.
