Bowen & Bowen beverages see price hikes due to rising costs

By Belize Live News Staff: Consumers across Belize are feeling the pinch as Bowen & Bowen, the country’s leading beverage distributor, has raised prices on several of its popular products. The price increases, which took effect this week, affect a range of items including plastic soft drinks, bottled water (up to the 5-gallon size), and select beers.

A company representative confirmed the price hikes, attributing them to the escalating costs of raw materials and transportation, a challenge the company has been grappling with since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Notably, the price increases do not extend to all products. Canned beverages, Belikin and Heineken beers, $1 bottled water, and pouches remain unaffected. The company representative emphasized that the decision to raise prices was made after careful consideration and only on products where the cost increases could no longer be absorbed internally.

The price hikes have been met with mixed reactions from consumers, with many expressing frustration at the rising cost of living. However, others have acknowledged the challenges faced by businesses in the current economic climate.

Bowen & Bowen has assured customers that they are committed to providing quality products at competitive prices and will continue to monitor the situation and adjust pricing as necessary.
