Belize braces for scattered showers and thunderstorms amidst sunny spells

By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect a mix of sunshine and scattered showers as the country experiences a relatively moist easterly airflow. The National Meteorological Service forecasts sunny skies with cloudy intervals for today, followed by partly cloudy to cloudy conditions tonight.

While the day promises ample sunshine, residents, especially those in the south and inland areas, should be prepared for a few showers and thunderstorms during the morning hours. The shower activity is expected to become more isolated as the day progresses.

The forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning indicates a few outbreaks of showers or thunderstorms, mainly concentrated in the southern region and along some coastal areas. Temperatures will remain warm, with coastal areas reaching highs of 89°F (32°C) and lows of 83°F (28°C). Inland regions can expect highs of 94°F (34°C) and lows of 74°F (23°C), while the hills will experience slightly cooler temperatures.

Marine conditions will see winds blowing from the east at 10-15 knots, resulting in choppy seas with waves reaching 3-5 feet.

Fortunately, the Tropical Weather Outlook indicates no immediate threat of tropical cyclone formation in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico over the next 48 hours.

As the weekend approaches, cloudy intervals are expected to persist, accompanied by a few showers or thunderstorms, mainly along the coast and in the south. These showers are expected to decrease gradually during the night.

Residents are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and take necessary precautions, particularly if planning outdoor activities. While the forecast promises a good amount of sunshine, it’s always wise to be prepared for the possibility of intermittent showers and thunderstorms.
