By Belize Live News Staff: A Belize City man was fined $705 on Wednesday after pleading guilty to assaulting his adult daughter. Jeffery Trapp, 55, appeared before the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on two counts of harm, one against his daughter and the other against his wife.
Trapp admitted to slapping his daughter during an argument on July 8 but denied assaulting his wife. He was granted bail of $1000 on the second charge and ordered to stay 100 yards away from his wife pending further court proceedings.
Trapp faces a six-month prison sentence if he fails to pay the fine by September 30.
