Mabil Ha Village celebrates groundbreaking for new water supply system

By Belize Live News Staff: The Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF) and the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labor & Local Government, in partnership with the Caribbean Development Bank, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Mabil Ha Village Water Supply System on Sunday, June 23rd. The project marks a significant milestone in improving the quality of life for Mabil Ha Village residents by providing access to safe and reliable water.

The ceremony was attended by the Village Alcalde, the Village Chairman, and many enthusiastic residents, all of whom expressed their gratitude and anticipation for the project’s completion. The new water supply system is designed to meet the village’s current and future needs, significantly reducing the time and effort residents currently expend on water collection.

The water infrastructure project, funded through the Caribbean Development Bank Basic Needs Trust Fund Tenth Cycle, is expected to have a transformative impact on the daily lives of the residents. This includes better health outcomes and enhanced opportunities for local development, according to Village Alcalde and BSIF Executive Director Carlos Tun. Minister Oscar Requena also highlighted the government’s commitment to rural development and community empowerment through such initiatives.
