By Belize Live News Staff: A deadly crash occurred this afternoon at the Caribbean Chicken curve in Punta Gorda, claiming the life of a motorcyclist.
The impact between a motorcycle and a white pickup truck left the rider fatally injured. Photos from the scene show police and emergency responders on-site, with the damaged motorcycle lying on the road and bystanders looking on in shock.
The front end of the pickup truck was visibly crushed, indicating a high-impact collision. A black backpack, believed to belong to the motorcyclist, lay near the scene.
As police investigate what led to the crash, community members are once again urging for better signage and safety measures in high-risk areas like this curve.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
