By Belize Live News Staff: A teenager is lucky to be alive after two armed assailants attempted to shoot him outside his home on Monday night in the Cannondale Drive area.
According to police, the teen was returning home just after 8:00 p.m. when two men on bicycles approached. One dismounted and fired several shots. The teen fled into his yard unharmed, but gunfire struck the lower flat of the residence.
The house was occupied at the time, and officers later observed several bullet impacts along its wall. Scenes of Crime personnel processed the area and recovered expended shells. Cameras in the area are yet to be reviewed, but several residents have come forward with potential leads.
Police continue to investigate the motive behind the shooting. No arrests have been made.
