By Belize Live News Staff:  The Caribbean Democrat Union (CDU) has extended its congratulations to Tracy Panton, who has made history as Belize’s first female Leader of the Opposition.

Panton has been a well-known figure in Belizean politics, serving as the Area Representative for Albert since 2015.

In her speech following the appointment, Panton emphasized her hopes that more women and girls will pursue leadership positions. She called it a moment of progress for Belize and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.

The Caribbean Democrat Union highlighted Panton’s experience and commitment to public service, noting that she will help shape policies that promote fairness, justice, and economic opportunities.
