By Belize Live News Staff: A hot and mostly dry Sunday is in store for Belize, but weather conditions will change tonight as a cold front approaches, bringing scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. For most of today, Belizeans can expect mostly sunny skies, with temperatures climbing to 94°F (34°C) inland, 87°F (31°C) along the coast, and 83°F (28°C) in the hills. Humidity levels will be high, making it feel even warmer, especially in the afternoon.
While no significant rainfall is expected during the day, there is a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm developing over the Maya Mountains later in the afternoon. By tonight, skies will become partly cloudy to cloudy, with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms developing over coastal and offshore areas. The approaching cold front will bring increased cloud cover and higher chances of rain by early Monday morning.
Sailors and fishermen should note that marine conditions will remain moderate, with east-southeast winds blowing at 10-20 knots. Waves will range between 4-6 feet, so boaters should exercise caution in offshore areas as winds may strengthen ahead of the cold front.
High tides are expected at 7:52 AM & 6:50 PM, while low tides will occur at 12:04 PM & 2:23 AM (Monday). The sunrise is at 6:05 AM, with sunset at 6:01 PM. The moonrise is scheduled for 2:15 PM, and moonset will be at 3:46 AM (Monday).
On Monday, expect cloudy skies with showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly along the coast and offshore. By Monday night, rainfall activity will decrease, leaving cooler and drier conditions as the cold front moves further south.
