By Belize Live News Staff: Police are searching for a suspect after an attempted arson was reported on Kelly Street, Belize City, in the early hours of Monday, February 17, 2025.
A 21-year-old woman told investigators that at 12:30 a.m., she was inside her apartment when she heard someone open her screen door. She then detected a spraying sound before suddenly seeing flames outside her front door.
Reacting quickly, she used a bucket of water to put out the fire, preventing serious damage to her home.
Authorities processed the scene but found no significant damage, and security camera footage in the area did not reveal any useful evidence. The case remains under investigation, and police are asking for public assistance in identifying the perpetrator.
