Light rain in the south, cloudy skies expected over Belize tonight

Cloudy skies, passing showers mark Sunday’s forecast for Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: Moisture from an east to northeasterly airflow continues to affect Belize’s weather today bringing scattered morning showers over the south and Maya Mountain regions. As the day progresses, skies will remain partly cloudy with warm temperatures, but some rain activity is expected to increase over coastal and central areas later tonight.

The Belize Meteorological Service forecasts that isolated showers will taper off in the morning, followed by mainly fair conditions for the rest of the day. However, residents along the coast should be prepared for some increased cloud cover and a few scattered showers during the evening.

Marine conditions will be relatively calm, with winds from the east-northeast at 5-15 knots. The sea state will remain choppy, with wave heights ranging between 3 and 5 feet. Fishermen and marine operators are encouraged to monitor sea conditions, especially in offshore waters.

Temperature readings remain comfortable, with coastal highs reaching 84°F (29°C) before cooling to 76°F (24°C) at night. Inland regions will be slightly warmer, with highs of 87°F (31°C) and lows of 68°F (20°C). In the hills, the temperature will range from 73°F (23°C) during the day to 65°F (18°C) overnight.

For Saturday and Saturday night, a few morning showers are expected to develop across Belize, but rainfall will gradually decrease as the day progresses, leading to isolated showers and drier conditions.

Today’s tide chart includes a high tide at 7:08 AM, a low tide at 10:48 AM, and another high tide at 5:33 PM. Tomorrow’s early low tide is forecast for 1:41 AM. The sun rose at 6:22 AM and will set at 5:50 PM. The moon is set to rise at 1:21 PM today and will set at 3:11 AM tomorrow.

Forecaster Crystal Rosalez advises that while Belize will see generally fair weather today, residents should expect brief showers, especially in southern areas this morning and over the coast tonight. Travelers and outdoor enthusiasts should keep an umbrella handy but can expect mostly favorable weather conditions throughout the day.
