By Belize Live News Staff: Six Belizeans have been honored in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours list, announced by the Office of the Governor-General on Friday. The awards recognize outstanding contributions to various sectors of Belizean society.
Mrs. Felicita Cantun and Ms. Beverly Ann Louise Wade have been appointed Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), for their outstanding contributions to culture and the environment respectively. Mr. Raymond Kearney has been appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his contributions to business.
Additionally, Mr. Mark Anthony Chavaria has been awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his contribution to sports, while Mr. Howell Austin Gillett and Mr. Robert Amadeo Mariano have received MBEs for their service to the community.
The King’s Birthday Honours list is a prestigious recognition that celebrates the achievements and dedication of individuals from all walks of life in Belize.
