By Belize Live News Staff: Belize is set to experience a day of cooler and gusty conditions as moist northerly winds influence the country’s weather on January 24, 2025. The Belize Meteorological Service has forecast mostly cloudy to overcast skies, with scattered showers, light rain, and isolated thunderstorms expected to impact several areas, especially along the coast and in the south.
Marine conditions will be challenging throughout the day as winds from the north-northwest at 10-20 knots strengthen to 15-25 knots from the north-northeast. Wave heights will range from 5 to 7 feet in the morning, increasing to 6 to 8 feet later in the day, leading to a small craft caution. Mariners are advised to exercise extreme caution due to the rough seas and strong gusts.
Temperatures will remain on the cooler side, offering a refreshing break from the warmer conditions typical of Belize. Coastal areas will see highs of 75°F (24°C) and lows of 68°F (20°C). Inland regions are forecasted to reach 77°F (25°C) during the day, cooling to 66°F (19°C) at night. Meanwhile, hilly areas will experience daytime highs of 63°F (17°C) and nighttime lows of 56°F (13°C).
Looking ahead, the forecast for Saturday suggests that showers and light rain will continue, mainly affecting coastal and southern areas, before tapering off to isolated activity by the evening. Cooler, breezy conditions are expected to persist into the weekend, maintaining the current weather pattern.
Tidal activity today includes a high tide at 7:24 AM, a low tide at 11:19 AM, and another high tide at 5:41 PM. An early low tide is forecast for 1:55 AM tomorrow. Sunrise was at 6:26 AM, and sunset is set for 5:43 PM. The moon will set at 1:18 PM today and rise again at 3:02 AM tomorrow.
