Caught bread-handed: Man nabbed for breadfruit theft

By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Belmopan have arrested and charged a man from the Maya Mopan area for stealing breadfruit from his neighbor’s property.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Monday morning around 10:30 a.m. The complainant stated that he was at home when Rene Bradley, a man he has known for the past seven years, jumped the fenced yard and took eight breadfruits from his tree. The stolen fruit is estimated to be worth $40.

Authorities responded promptly and apprehended Bradley, who has since been charged with theft.
