By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans woke up to relatively moist weather conditions today, December 30, 2024, with scattered showers and periods of rain primarily affecting coastal areas. The morning rain showers are forecast to taper off as the afternoon progresses, transitioning into isolated rainfall by evening. Despite the early dampness, the day is expected to evolve into a more pleasant one, with opportunities for outdoor activities opening up later.
Marine conditions remain tranquil, with light east-northeast winds at 5-10 knots and a slight sea state. Waves are gentle, reaching heights of only 1-3 feet, making for excellent conditions for boating and other water-based activities.
Temperature-wise, the coast will see highs of 84°F (29°C) and nighttime lows of 77°F (25°C). Inland areas will be warmer, peaking at 86°F (30°C) during the day and cooling to 72°F (22°C) overnight. The hillier regions will experience cooler conditions, with daytime highs of 76°F (25°C) and lows dipping to 68°F (20°C).
Looking ahead, Tuesday’s forecast predicts isolated showers throughout the day, with an increase in activity expected by night. These developing patterns suggest the potential for wetter conditions as the week unfolds, particularly during the evenings.
Tidal activity today includes a high tide at 11:08 AM, a low tide at 4:31 PM, and another high tide at 10:45 PM. Tomorrow’s early low tide is expected at 5:43 AM. Sunrise this morning occurred at 6:22 AM, with sunset anticipated at 5:28 PM. The moon rose at 6:13 AM and is set to descend at 5:20 PM this evening.
Forecaster Francisca Wellington advises residents, particularly along the coast, to stay prepared for morning showers and to take advantage of improving conditions later in the day. Those planning outdoor or marine activities should find the afternoon weather more accommodating.
