Ladyville Police investigate major theft of construction equipment

By Belize Live News Staff: Authorities in Ladyville are investigating a significant theft involving over $9,000 worth of construction tools and equipment stolen from a container at a work site on Mile 6, Ladyville Village.

The incident, reported to police on Friday, December 27, 2024, occurred sometime between 5 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, and 7 a.m. on Friday. The stolen items, taken from a 40-foot grey container, include valuable tools such as skill saws, hammer drills, grinders, a jackhammer, chop saws, a pressure washer, and a Firma generator.

The estimated value of the stolen equipment is $9,645 BZD, a substantial loss for the contractor.

Police responded by visiting and photographing the scene. A forensic investigator canvassed the area, but no leads or witnesses have been identified so far. Investigators have recorded a statement from the victim and are continuing their inquiries.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact authorities. Investigators remain hopeful for a breakthrough in the case.
