Police say no leads yet in case of missing cousins, searches ongoing

By Belize Live News Staff: Police are intensifying their search for two cousins who disappeared five days ago, as fear mounts among their families and friends. Marvin Cante and John Raymundo were last seen on Wednesday. Their abandoned vehicle was found the next morning at Mile 24, its engine running and bloodstains inside.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Hilberto Romero told reporters that search operations are ongoing in several areas, including Democracia, Coastal Road, and Mahogany Heights. “We are presently conducting several searches, but so far, no leads or information on their whereabouts,” he said.

The vehicle, which was borrowed from someone in Belmopan, has become central to the investigation. Statements have been taken, but Romero admitted that authorities are yet to uncover why the men may have been targeted.

“They [the family] do not know. All they know is that they left in that vehicle and have not been seen since,” Romero explained.

The police have urged the public to share any information that might help locate the missing men as searches continue without breakthroughs.
