Enjoy the sunshine today, Belize! But rain’s on the way for Sunday

A perfect day ahead: Clear skies and gentle breezes across the country

By Belize Live News Staff: Good morning, Belize! It’s a beautiful start to your Saturday, with sunny skies and warm temperatures across the country. Perfect weather for hitting the beach, enjoying some outdoor activities, or just relaxing in the sunshine. But don’t get too used to it! The National Met Service says changes are coming our way.

Today, you can expect those sunny skies to stick around, with just a few cloudy spells here and there. Temperatures are soaring – we’re talking 89°F on the coast and a sizzling 92°F inland. So, stay hydrated, folks!

If you’re heading out on the water, conditions are looking good. Expect light chop and waves between 2-4 feet.

Now, for the tropics. Tropical Storm Leslie is way out in the Atlantic and moving further away, so no worries there. But, there’s a new system brewing west of the Cabo Verde Islands that we need to keep an eye on. It has a medium chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours. We’ll be tracking its progress closely here at Belize Live News, so stay tuned for updates.

Looking ahead to Sunday, the Met Service is forecasting an increase in showers and thunderstorms. So, if you have outdoor plans, you might want to have a backup! While Sunday morning should be relatively dry, by the afternoon, we can expect those showers and thunderstorms to become more widespread.

That’s your latest weather update. Stay tuned to Belize Live News for more updates throughout the day, and have a fantastic weekend!
