By Belize Live News Staff: A festive atmosphere in Orange Walk Town turned tragic Saturday night as a young man from Belize City lost his life in a fatal stabbing incident.
Alwin Arnold Vasquez, 23, was enjoying the carnival festivities with friends when a confrontation escalated into violence. An unidentified assailant stabbed Vasquez in the abdomen, leaving him critically wounded.
Despite being rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital, Vasquez succumbed to his injuries.
Police investigations are ongoing, but witnesses, reportedly intoxicated, have been unable to provide coherent statements.
This has hampered efforts to identify the assailant and determine the motive behind the attack.
