Diplomatic week brings global ambassadors to Belize in Independence Celebration

By Belize Live News Staff: Ahead of Belize’s 43rd Independence Day, the Government is hosting approximately two dozen ambassadors for Diplomatic Week, aiming to strengthen international relations and celebrate shared values.

“We are thrilled to welcome our international partners and friends of Belize,” stated Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Education, Culture, Science, and Technology. “This week, we host around two dozen ambassadors who have joined us for Diplomatic Week, celebrating Belize and our shared values as we approach Independence Day.”

Belize will officially celebrate 43 years of independence on September 21st. Fonseca emphasized that this occasion is not solely about commemorating the past, but also about shaping the future. “This 43rd Independence Anniversary is not just about commemorating history,” he said. “It is a reminder of the responsibility we all carry to build a vibrant, engaged, and active society. Independence means more than breaking from colonial rule—it’s about fostering an informed and empowered citizenry.”

Diplomatic Week, gathering international representatives, is anticipated to reinforce Belize’s connections with global partners and underscore the country’s dedication to diplomacy and collaboration on the world stage.
