By Belize Live News Staff: In a statement this morning, Police Commissioner Chester Williams has condemned a video circulating online that depicts a woman and a young child engaged in sexually suggestive dancing during the recent Belize City Carnival.
“That video is tantamount to an assault of a sexual nature upon that child,” Commissioner Williams stated. “If we as a society do not see something wrong with such action then certainly something is wrong with us.”
Williams stressed that the child’s laughter in the video does not negate the seriousness of the incident. “Yes the child is laughing but he does not know what was being done to him,” he emphasized.
The Police Commissioner has directed that the child, his parents, and social services be brought in to address the matter.
