By Belize Live News Staff: In a ceremony held on Thursday, the Ministry of Public Service, Constitutional & Political Reform, and Religious Affairs recognized 23 dedicated public officers who have each contributed 35 years of their lives to serving the people and government of Belize. These individuals were inducted into the prestigious Belize Public Service Walk of Recognition and Inspiration, a lasting tribute to their unwavering commitment and successful careers as civil servants.
In addition to this recognition, the Ministry introduced a new and unique award, the “Keeper of the Flame”. This special designation is reserved for retired public officers who, despite their retirement, continue to selflessly dedicate their time and expertise to the betterment of Belize and its citizens. The inaugural recipient of this esteemed award is none other than former Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer.
Ms. Frazer, who retired after an impressive 34 and a half years of service, continues to serve her country with the same distinction and passion that marked her career. Her selection as the first “Keeper of the Flame” underscores her unwavering commitment to Belize and its people.
