Social Security Board appoints new CEO

By Belize Live News Staff: The Social Security Board of Belize announced today the appointment of Dr. Leroy Almendarez as its new Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Almendarez assumed his new role effective Monday, August 19, 2024.

Dr. Almendarez brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in leadership and innovation. He is recognized for his ability to foster strong teams and drive progress in areas such as trade, investment, policy, strategy, and entrepreneurship. His expertise in developing solutions to operational, technical, and economic challenges is expected to be a valuable asset to the Social Security Board.

“Dr. Almendarez is a highly organized and analytical leader with a demonstrated ability to implement successful systems across diverse operations,” the Board stated in its press release. “We are confident that his leadership will further strengthen the Social Security Board and its services to the people of Belize.”

Dr. Almendarez holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, an MBA from the University of the West Indies, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ferris State University.

The Board, management, and staff of the Social Security Board congratulated Dr. Almendarez on his appointment and expressed their gratitude to all beneficiaries and stakeholders for their continued support.
