By Belize Live News Staff: When Europe turns cold and grey, Belize will be just a flight away.
The Belize Tourism Board’s new partnership with Discover Airlines is designed to capture travellers looking to escape the European winter. The seasonal Frankfurt to Belize City service will launch December 16, 2027, and run through mid April 2028, covering Belize’s sunniest months.
Minister of Tourism Anthony Mahler says strengthening Belize’s presence in Europe is a key priority and that the route will make it easier for visitors to experience the Barrier Reef, islands, rainforests and ancient Maya sites.
The BTB plans to work with the airline and tourism partners to raise Belize’s profile across Europe.
The new route comes at an important time. BTB figures show overnight arrivals fell 8.4 percent between June and September, with the US, Belize’s biggest market, facing economic and political uncertainty. Europe currently makes up only about 9 to 10 percent of visitors, leaving plenty of room to grow.
Tickets are expected to be available from mid December this year.
