By Belize Live News Staff: New details have emerged in the case against Pastor Kevin Tzib, founder of Dunamis Ministries.
Police say the 33 year old pastor of Santa Elena Town was charged after four young men came forward with reports.
Staff Officer ASP Stacy Smith said the incidents linked to the six counts of sexual assault and one count of unnatural crime span more than five years, from February 2021 to July 2026.
Tzib appeared in the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where the prosecutor objected to bail. Bail was denied, and he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison. He pleaded not guilty.
A church member, who is related to one of the complainants and spoke anonymously to 7 News, said the young men were afraid to speak up because of the pastor’s standing in the church and the community.
She said they feared people would not believe them because many saw him as a man of God.
According to the church member, the matter was raised with church leaders before it reached police, and several members have since left the church.
Tzib returns to court on November 21. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
