By Belize Live News Staff: Prime Minister John Briceño has expressed his gratitude to Julius Espat as Espat’s interim stint at Home Affairs comes to a close.
In the official release announcing Cabinet changes, the Prime Minister said he wished to especially thank Espat for his stellar work as interim Minister of Home Affairs.
Espat had been responsible for the ministry since Oscar Mira was removed from the post amid the controversy known as the “Mira Millions” scandal.
That ministry has now been restructured as the Ministry of National Security and placed under Michel Chebat, who also retains Energy and Ports.
The release did not indicate a new assignment for Espat.
Also announced were new roles for Ramon Cervantes in Public Utilities, Logistics and Solid Waste Management, Dr. Osmond Martinez in Economic Transformation and Henry Charles Usher in Enterprise. Ramiro Ramirez remains a Minister of State.
