By Belize Live News Staff: Forecasters are watching a system in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, but Belizeans have nothing to worry about.
The National Meteorological Service says a trough of low pressure in the southwestern Gulf is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. It now has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 48 hours.
The system poses no threat to Belize.
Here at home, Tuesday will be sunny with a few cloudy spells. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will form along the coast this morning before moving inland in the afternoon and evening. The south could see a few more showers tonight.
Temperatures will reach 89°F on the coast, 94°F inland and 82°F in the hills.
Marine conditions are favourable, with a light chop, east to southeast winds of 5 to 15 knots and waves of 2 to 4 feet.
Today’s high tides are at 6:19am and 7:31pm, with low tide at 1:26pm. Tomorrow’s low tide is at 1:02am.
