By Belize Live News Staff: A routine night patrol in August Pine Ridge Village ended with a rider under arrest and his motorcycle impounded.

Corridor Police officers stopped Silverio Perez, 38, on Saturday around 10:30pm as he rode a white 2023 Honda 150L through the village.

According to police, Perez told the officer his driver’s licence had expired. There was also no valid licence sticker on the bike.

When asked for the insurance disc, Perez allegedly replied, “Officer, I do not have insurance and license for the motorcycle.”

He was arrested and taken to the Orange Walk Police Station, where he was formally charged with driving an uninsured motor vehicle and driving without a valid licence.

Perez chose to remain silent when cautioned.

Police are reminding motorists that driving without insurance and a valid licence is against the law.
