Cannabis stash discovered in abandoned pickup cabin

By Belize Live News Staff: A tip about a man with a black bag led Orange Walk police to a hidden stash of suspected cannabis on Thursday evening.

Officers from the Orange Walk GI3 searched the dump site area at the end of Smith Sonia Street after receiving information from Special Branch.

In an old green pickup cabin, they found a black plastic bag packed with suspected cannabis.

At the Orange Walk Police Station, the drugs were weighed. A sealed package weighed 524 grams, a smaller package weighed 366 grams, and 11 zip lock bags together weighed 214 grams.

That brings the total to 1,104 grams.

No one was found in the area, and no arrests have been made. The drugs were sealed and labelled as found property.
