By Belize Live News Staff: There is new leadership at the Port of Belize.
The Board of Port of Belize Limited has appointed Ian Courtenay as Executive Chairman following the resignation of longtime CEO Arturo “Tux” Vasquez.
Courtenay will oversee port operations while the process of selecting a new Chief Executive Officer is completed.
Vasquez’s departure ends 14 years at the helm. He first served as a bank appointed receiver for 12 years, then stayed on as CEO for two years after the Government of Belize acquired the port.
The Board thanked him for his service and dedication.
No timeline has been given for the appointment of a new CEO.
