By Belize Live News Staff: Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected across Belize today as moist and unstable weather remains over the region.
The National Meteorological Service says outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms will affect offshore and northern coastal areas this morning before shifting farther inland during the afternoon.
The Maya Mountains are expected to see increased shower activity later today.
Conditions will remain mostly cloudy, although Belizeans could see a few periods of sunshine between the showers.
Tonight, the focus of the wet weather will return to offshore and coastal areas, where outbreaks of showers are expected to continue into Friday morning.
Inland temperatures could climb to 93 degrees Fahrenheit despite the cloudy and wet conditions. Coastal areas will reach around 88 degrees, while the hills will see highs near 84 degrees.
The outlook for Friday calls for more cloudy intervals and showers and thunderstorms, particularly offshore and along the coast.
Forecasters are also monitoring Tropical Storm Fay and another disturbance in the eastern Atlantic, but neither system currently poses a threat to Belize.
