By Belize Live News Staff: A 62 year old Orange Walk man is seeking court action after he was allegedly punched twice in the mouth during an incident at a gas station.
Police say the incident occurred on Friday night at the 24/7 Gas Station on Belize Corozal Road.
The complainant told investigators that he knew the accused man and that the two had an interaction outside the store.
He alleged that the man became aggressive before punching him in the mouth.
The complainant said the man then struck him a second time after he questioned why he had been hit.
Police officers who were nearby reportedly arrived shortly afterward.
The complainant was escorted to the police station and later examined by a doctor, who classified his injuries as wounding.
Police identified the accused as Roberto Antunez, 36.
The matter remains under investigation and police say charges are pending.
