By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans celebrating the country’s 45th anniversary of Independence today should keep an eye on the skies, with showers and isolated thunderstorms possible in several areas.
The National Meteorological Service says relatively moist and somewhat unstable conditions continue to prevail across the country.
Skies will be cloudy at times today and tonight. A few showers or isolated thunderstorms are possible mainly along some coastal areas this morning before activity shifts mostly inland this afternoon.
Tonight, a few showers and isolated thunderstorms could develop around the country, with northern and coastal areas expected to see the greatest chance of rainfall.
Despite the possibility of rain, temperatures will remain warm. Inland areas could reach 95 degrees Fahrenheit, while coastal communities can expect highs around 88 degrees. Temperatures in the hills will reach around 83 degrees.
Marine conditions remain relatively calm, with light and variable winds, slight seas and waves between one and three feet.
Tropical Storm Fay remains far out in the Atlantic and poses no threat to Belize.
Similar conditions are expected Tuesday, with cloudy skies and a few showers or isolated thunderstorms possible around the country.
