By Belize Live News Staff: The Belize Defence Force has received additional support for its field operations through a partnership with the International Organization for Migration.
The first phase of assistance includes an All Terrain Vehicle, field portable stoves and radios.
The Belize Defence Force says the new equipment will support soldiers working in demanding environments by improving transport, communication and logistics.
The ATV will allow personnel to reach locations that may be difficult for regular vehicles, while the radios are expected to improve communication between teams.
Portable stoves will also assist soldiers deployed for extended periods away from established facilities.
The Belize Defence Force says more equipment is expected in future phases of the partnership.
The support is intended to strengthen the operational capabilities of Belize’s security forces and contribute to border protection and national security.
The Belize Defence Force expressed appreciation to the International Organization for Migration for its continued assistance.
