Police

By Belize Live News Staff: A San Pedro woman called police Thursday night after her former common law partner allegedly threatened to kill her during an argument outside her home.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 9:00 p.m. in the DFC area.

According to the woman’s report, her former partner arrived at her residence after allegedly consuming alcohol and attempted to enter the house.

She refused to allow him inside, after which an argument reportedly developed.

Police say the woman alleged that the man repeatedly told her in Spanish, “Te voy a matar,” meaning “I will kill you.”

She told investigators that the alleged threats caused her to fear for both her life and the safety of her daughters.

The woman then contacted police, prompting the man to leave the area.

Police reportedly located and detained him approximately 30 minutes later.

The suspect was identified as 41 year old Wilson Garcia.

Following a formal complaint, Garcia was arrested and charged on Friday with threat of death.

He reportedly remained silent after being cautioned.
