By Belize Live News Staff: Police in San Pedro recovered a quantity of suspected cannabis during an operation in the Boca Del Rio area on Wednesday.
According to police, officers acting on intelligence carried out a search in a mangrove area near the lagoon shortly after 8:00 a.m.
During the search, police reportedly found a green plastic bag among garbage. Inside was a wrapped parcel containing a green leafy substance believed to be cannabis.
No one was in the immediate area at the time of the discovery.
The suspected drugs were taken to the San Pedro Police Station, where they were weighed and amounted to 600 grams.
Police later sealed and labelled the parcel before placing it into evidence as found property.
No arrests have been reported in connection with the discovery.
