By Belize Live News Staff: Two men are facing charges after an Orange Walk police patrol reportedly caught an 18 year old riding a motorcycle without a Belize driver’s licence.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. Wednesday along Slaughter House Road.
Police say officers noticed a blue Meilun 250 motorcycle and signalled the rider to stop.
The rider identified himself as Alex Alexis Castillo. When asked to produce a driver’s licence, Castillo allegedly told police that he did not have one.
About two minutes later, Julio Francisco Castillo, 22, arrived at the scene and reportedly identified himself as the owner of the motorcycle.
According to police, Julio told officers that he had given the motorcycle to Alex to drive.
Both men were cautioned and escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station along with the motorcycle.
Alex was charged with driving while not being the holder of a Belize driver’s licence, while Julio was charged with permitting a person to drive without a permit.
Both were granted bail and are due in court on September 14.
